Please, everyone know that the carb top cover screws REQUIRE an impact screwdriver to remove. The factory torques them down tight. Now that yours are mashed, try cutting a slot in the heads with a Dremel disk that will accept a standard flat-blade screwdriver tip 'on an impact driver'. Grinding off the heads is not a good option, it will leave very little to grab with pliers.
